Overview

What you need to knowabout this route.

A work permit compliance audit gives your HR or legal team a complete, verified picture of all non-EU employee permits in your Spanish operation — their status, expiry dates, work authorisation scope, and Social Security compliance.

The most common compliance failures are: permits that have expired (or are about to expire) without renewal being initiated; employees whose job title or role has changed since the permit was issued (meaning their authorisation no longer matches their work); and gaps in Social Security registration. All of these carry administrative and legal risk. The audit identifies every one.

FAQ

Frequently askedquestions.

What's included in the audit report?
A permit-by-permit breakdown showing type, expiry, authorisation scope, compliance status, and any identified gaps. Priority actions flagged. Timeline for renewals and recommendations for role changes.
How often should a compliance audit be done?
Annually for most companies. More frequently (every 6 months) if you have a large non-EU workforce or frequent role changes.
What if we find non-compliant permits?
I provide a clear remediation plan — which permits to renew immediately, which role changes need documentation, and what to file with Social Security. I can manage the remediation as a separate instruction.
Does this cover Social Security too?
Yes. I check that all permit holders are correctly registered with the Spanish Social Security system and that contribution obligations are being met.
Can you do a rolling audit (ongoing monitoring)?
Yes — as part of the HR retainer service. Monthly reporting on all permit statuses and 60-day renewal triggers.
Ready to move forward with your Spain permit?
Start with a free 15-minute call — no forms, no commitment. I'll confirm your route, eligibility and the right package for your situation.
